before they go back to class on monday. we want to take you live to newtown connecticut. that is where we are waiting for a news conference to begin at any moment. authorities may release the names of the victim this is morning. some of the vic tames bodies are inside the school others have been removed. it has been a slow process trying to positively identify the children as most kids don't carry identification. there are 27 victims 20 of them are children 7 adults that includes the shooter's mother nancy lanza and teacher vicky soto. another adult victim has been identified 37-year-old donna hochsprung. damned lanza this is a picture from 2005. they are interviewing members of his family and friends that includes his brother and father treeing to put together any explanation for this tragedy. we have more coming up in the newscast. stay with abc 7 news for continuing coverage. you can get our abc 7 news app and get the push operations. we are updating our facebook page at facebook.com abc 7 news. let's get our first look at the weather check in with meteorologist lisa argin. >> we are l

tonight. good evening. i'm ama dates. president obama visited the grief-stricken community of newtown, connecticut where he met with the victims' families. he will have more on tonight's services in a few minutes. we begin with abc news reporter laura anthony live in the community still reeling from the shooting that took 27 lives. laura? >> reporter: that's right, ama. the community is still reeling and starting to heal a little bit. in the meantime we learned new information. we learned adam lanza, the shooter, and his mother who was a gunnen enthusiast. abc news has learned that she actually visited a gun range in this area on several occasions. and we learned on one occasion she brought her son adam with her. now, it is unclear at this point whether he fired any guns there. >> reporter: the grieving continued late into the night in the tiny new england village of sandy hook, a community still trying to come to grips with all they lost. in the center of town near the christmas tree, the memorial grows to the 26 people killed by adam lanza at the local elementary school two days ago

with connecticut gunman lanza. workers at a newtown hair salon where lanza and his mother were regular customers say they never heard him speak. they say that his mother nancy lanza would give her son directions about what to do and where to go. meanwhile investigators are still not clear about what motivated him to open fire at that elementary school school on friday. cbs news's marlie hall has more live from newtown. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. while the motive behind this tragic school shooting remains unclear, one thing is for sure, emotions are still raw here in newtown, connecticut. five funerals are scheduled for today in this one small town and people are still reeling. hundreds gathered for memorial service to remember sandy hook elementary principal dawn hochsprung. she died trying to stop the shooter after he broke into the school. >> you don't have to know her. you just have to know what she did is an act of selflessness and that touches humanity. >> reporter: hochsprung's funeral is just one of five that will be held today. tuesday saw two more children laid to rest. 6-
